Construction is well under way for the new surf wave on the Deschutes River in Bend Oregon and we now have an semi official opening day, September 19th 2015! That means surf is up in Bend by late Summer. The surfing wave also has a name, Eddy’s Wave. It’s going to be the first and biggest of three river waves in the whitewater park and it’s a green wave specifically shaped for full time river surfing. This is great news since most whitewater park waves must be changed daily to accommodate kayak holes and river surf waves. In Bend, Oregon the river surf waves will be pumping 24/7. You can check out the progress daily on the Colorado Damn Safe Passage Project river cam http://eyeonbend.com/Cam4.html .
